Adding Activities to Your Trip
Once you have your trip setup within Tripsy, you can start adding activities to the trip, each activity will have a location and generally speaking a date and time for when the activity both starts and ends.
The easiest way to add activities, if you're a Tripsy PRO subscriber, is to use our email forwarding feature to automatically turn your reservation emails into activities.
To manually add activities to your trip, there's a few options and special cases for different types of activities.
Flights & Travel Routes
Because flights and travel routes have additional information, we've created dedicated guides on how to add these to Tripsy:
Adding Other Activities
To start adding an activity to your trip:
- Open the trip in question within Tripsy
- Tap on the New Activity (or Add First Activity if this is your first activity within a trip) icon that's indicated with the large + icon just below the trip details.
- This will bring up the new activity search.
This search page lets you choose which category you want to find activities for, and you'll see both pinned activity category shortcuts as well as a list of all the categories currently available within Tripsy.
Choosing your category, you'll then be taken to a dedicated search view for that category. We'll look at a few examples to show you how the search works and how these can be then added as activities to your itinerary.

Example 1: Your First Hotel in London
You're visiting London and want to find a hotel, you can search for suitable hotels by doing the following:
- Once in the new activity search, tap on Stays
- By default, for your first activity in a trip, the Nearby filter will be set to 'Everywhere'
- Tap the location next to Nearby to then search for London
- Tap on 'London' to use this as the search location.
- You'll now see a list of hotels, starting with the closest to the centre of the location.
- If you know the name, or maybe the hotel chain, you can also search by entering the name in the 'Hotel name or address' field.
- You can view the details of a particular hotel by tapping on the name.
- If you don't want to use this hotel, just tap the X at the top-right of the activity details and you'll be taken back to the search.
- If you want to add this hotel to your trip, tap Save Place and you'll be taken to the activity details.
- You can now tap on the date to set the check-in date for your stay, once set, you'll see the fields now change to Check-in and Check-out.
- You can now set your check-in time, followed by the check-out date and time.
- At this point, you can tap the X at the top right of the activity and you'll be taken back to the activity search. You can tap the backspace key on the keyboard (virtual or physical) to clear the previous search filter and choose a new category.
Example 2: Adding a Restaurant Near Your Hotel
You want to get something to eat close to your hotel, you can add an activity in the Restaurants category as such:
- Add a new activity as above
- Choose Restaurant and then tap Nearby
- Under Suggestions you should see your added hotel, tap this.
- You'll now see restaurants near your hotel, starting with the closest first.
- Choose the restaurant you want, then tap Save Place
- You'll be able to set your start date and time.
- By default, Tripsy will set your end time to be 30 minutes after your start time, just tap on the end time to change this to your needs.
The above examples should help you learn the basics of adding different types of activities to Tripsy, using a combination of the Nearby filter and the Categories should allow you to find the majority of locations.
Adding More Details to Your Activities
As well as the basic location and date and time information, Tripsy allows you to add a range of additional information to your activities.
- For Tripsy PRO users, you can add expenses and documents to your activities.
- Tapping on Write a Note will allow you to add a note to your activity, this can be useful for adding details about the hotel, such as if breakfast is included, or things like any requirements for the activity.
- Tapping on the three dots at the bottom right of the activity and tapping Edit Information will allow you to edit more detailed information about the activity.
- All activities allow you to add a Reservation Code.
- Other activities have specific fields, for example a hotel stay will allow you to add a room type and room number.
