Managing Your Activities
Once you've created your activities, either manually or via email, you can change details, add more detail, and of course remove the activity if it's no longer needed.
In this guide, we'll cover some of the common things you can do with your activities, and link to more detailed guides on certain functions such as managing documents and expenses.
Updating Dates & Times
Plans can change, and when they do we've made it very easy to adjust the dates and times of your activities.
Changing Dates
To change the dates of your activity, just tap on the date that needs to change, either the start or end (or check-in and check-out for stays) and you'll be presented with the date picker.
- The available dates will be limited to the dates you've set for your trip, and so if you pick a date just outside of that range, Tripsy will prompt you to update your trip dates accordingly.
- If your start and end date are on the same day already, we'll automatically adjust the end date to match the new start date.
- If your end date is on another day, we'll adjust the new end date to be the same number of days from your original start date. For example, if your start date was on the 16th of a month with an end date of the 17th, and you change the start date to the 18th, the new end date would be the 19th
Changing Times
Similar to changing your dates, you just need to tap on the relevant time that you need to change. This will then bring up the time picker with the current time.
- On iPhone and iPad, you'll have a time picker for both hour and minutes, whereas on macOS you'll be able to type the time. You can type this as 24 hour time (e.g. 17:00) or as 12 hour time (e.g. 5pm).
- When changing the start time for events on the same day, we'll adjust the end time accordingly. For example, if you move an activity forward by 15 minutes from 19:15 to 19:00, where the original end time was 22:00, we'll adjust the end time to be 21:45.
You'll also see the timezone for your activity, and we have a complete guide on managing timezones here.
A Note About Transport Activities
For any transport activities such as flights, trains, car journeys, etc, you'll need to first tap on the three dots at the bottom right of the activity and choose Edit Information before you can edit the dates and times of the activity.
Where routing is available, currently via Apple Maps, we'll also try to adjust your arrival time where appropriate, this would currently apply to car, walking, and bike routes, when you adjust the departure time.
TIP: If you're a Tripsy PRO user, you can get automatic updates to flight times within 48 hours of departure as we detail in our guide to flight updates.
Removing Dates & Times from Activities
If you need to change plans, but maybe don't yet have a new time or date for the activity, you can:
- Tapping on the date will give you the option to Clear Date & Time - this will remove all dates and times form the activity. This will then no longer show in your itinerary view, but will be in your Latest Added section from the trip's homepage.
- Tapping on the time will give you the option to Clear Time which will remove the times from your activity. This will also remove the end date if you had a multi-day event.
Removing Activities
If you need to cancel an activity, or a planned activity is no longer taking place, you can quickly remove this by either:
- Using our quick actions from the itinerary view as we detail here.
- Tapping on the three dots at the bottom right of the activity itself and choosing Remove Activity.
Please be aware, there's no undo feature within Tripsy and deleted activities can't be recovered so we've intentionally made sure the remove options are relatively protected form accidental presses.
It's also worth noting that we don't, at least right now, have a way to automatically cancel flights or reservations if cancellation emails are forwarded to Tripsy. This is something we'd like to be able to handle in the future.
Documents and Expenses
If you're a Tripsy PRO user, you have access to add documents and expenses to your trip and activities to allow you to record the costs of each activity as well as store documents such as tickets, booking details, and more. We've created detailed guides on both features here:
Changing the Pinned Map Location
Sometimes, the location that's added to Tripsy won't match exactly where your activity is taking place. A great example of this is resorts like Disney World, where the reservation emails will generally give the resort address, but your activity may be at a specific spot (e.g. a certain restaurant).
Tripsy can help you here, as you can change the map location for any activity. To do this:
- Open the activity in question from your itineary
- Tap the three-dots at the bottom-right of the activity
- Choose More Actions > Change Map Location
- You'll be able to move the map pin as needed by dragging this to the relevant location. You can pinch to zoom the map in and out if you need to get a wider view.
- Once done, tap Save and the new map location will be saved.
This won't change the address within Tripsy, only the map location itself.
