See Your Calendar Events in Your Tripsy Itinerary
Tripsy PRO Feature: Viewing your calendar events alongside your itinerary requires an active subscription to Tripsy PRO or our Lifetime PRO purchase. You can find out more about Tripsy PRO here
Want to see which meetings you have scheduled during a trip, make sure you know the time of that important sales call during your conference, or make sure you don't forget a birthday or anniversary whilst on vacation? Tripsy has your back!

Starting with Tripsy 3.8 (released in March 2026), you can now choose to see your calendar events from your own calendars, we'll even show you the correct time for the relevant calendar event based on the timezones of your trip's activities.
Of course, we automatically exclude your Tripsy calendar feed if you have this added to your device's calendars so you don't see duplicate activities.
Turning on Calendar Events
To enable calendar events, and choose which calendars you'd like events to be included from:
- Open any trip within Tripsy
- Tap on your Itinerary
- Tap on the three dots at the bottom-left of the itinerary view
- Choose Preferences
- Turn on Show Calendar Events
- If you haven't previously given Tripsy access to your calendars to add your calendar feed, you'll be asked to give full calendar permissions so we can read details form your calendar.
- You'll then see the option for Calendar Events where you can select the calendars you want to see events from in your itineraries.
Viewing Calendar Events
Your calendar events will appear in your itinerary as banners colored to match the color of the relevant calendar as chosen in the Calendar app. Calendar events will show in-between activities based on the date and time of the calendar event.
To view more details of the calendar event, just tap on the event in question and you'll see the details pop-up. You'll see the calendar the event is from, the dates and times of the event, along with any location details and notes added from your calendar app. We'll also show you any activities that match the times of the event under Where you'll be.

When you tap on the three dots at the top-left of an event, you'll see options for:
- Create An Activity: This allows you to create a new activity from a calendar event, as we detail below
- Open in Calendar: This will open the event in the Calendar app, if you have this installed - if you don't then you'll be asked if you want to restore the Calendar app from the App Store.
- Edit Calendar Event: Lets you quickly edit your calendar event using the Calendar app.
- Hide: This will hide the calendar event from your itinerary, for example if you already have an activity with the same details. This currently cannot be undone, though this may be something we add the ability to do in a future update

Calendar Events & Timezones
Let's be honest, timezones are complicated even if you're a seasoned traveller! Tripsy already helps you with timezone changes for your activities, so we wanted to extend that functionality into calendar events.
When the timezone in an activity you're assigned to differs from a calendar event, we'll show you the timezone difference both in the event details, and with a timezone change icon to the left of the event's time in your itinerary.

We've also created a handy way for you to see the time difference, with indications to show the local time based on your activities, and the original time of the event.
To see this, just tap on the timezone change banner in the event to reveal the new comparison view - you'll then see the local time of the event based on your closest activity, and the original time along with the timezones.
We also show a day and night indicator, and this is currently set to having nighttime start after 6pm and ending at 6am regardless of the locations.
Creating Activities from Calendar Events
If you've already got events in your calendar you can turn these into activities within Tripsy, for example you already have your flight booked and added to your calendar, or want to turn the dinner you've been invited to into a restaurant activity.
Flights
For flights, we're able to do some automatic detection and as long as your calendar event has a flight number along with the date and time of departure you'll see a Track Flight option when you view the details of the flight's calendar event, just tap this and we'll automatically add the flight as an activity for you.

Other Event Types
For any other type of calendar event, you can tap on the three dots at the top-left of the event details and choose Create Activity. We'll pick up the dates and times, including the timezone, of the event, and you can then choose a suitable category for the activity. Simply tap Save to turn add this as an activity in your itinerary.

At this time, you can't create hotel stays or transport activities using this method, though this may be something we look at for a future update. For these types of events, we'd recommend forwarding your reservation emails so we can turn those into the appropriate events.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I see calendars from other calendar apps (e.g. Outlook, Google Calendar, Fastmail)?
-
Yes and no, whilst we can't integrate with other calendar apps on your device, such as Outlook or Google calendar, you can have calendars from other services visible in Tripsy.
The important thing to be aware of is that the calendars in question must be setup within your device's Calendar settings, either from within the Calendar app itself or via Settings > Apps > Calendars.
The good news is that iOS, iPadOS, and macOS all support a wide range of calendar providers and you can still use your preferred calendar app as long as the calendars you want to view in Tripsy are setup as described above.
-
- Are my calendar events saved to my Tripsy account?
-
No, unless you create activities from a calendar event, all of your calendar events remain on your device and do not get synced with your Tripsy account - we do this to protect the privacy of your calendar data.
This does mean that you will need to ensure that the relevant calendar accounts are available on any devices you have Tripsy installed on where you want to see the calendar events alongside your itinerary.
