See Your Trips in Your Calendar App

Tripsy PRO Feature:  The Calendar Feed requires an active subscription to Tripsy PRO or our Lifetime PRO purchase. You can find out more about Tripsy PRO here

Want to see all of your upcoming trips and activities in your favorite calendar app or service (Apple Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Fastmail, Google Calendar, etc) without the pain of having to connect your different calendar accounts to Tripsy. We've got you covered, and best of all we don't have any access to the rest of your calendars, which is great for your privacy.

Because we're not connecting directly to your calendar, you can also share your calendar feed with anyone (of course, we'd recommend this be someone you trust!) and add it to any calendar app that supports the ICS standard.

As this is a calendar subscription, the information in the calendar will be read-only; it's not possible to make changes in your calendar app, that's always done within Tripsy.

You can also control what's shown on your calendar feed to give you a more personalized experience.

Setup Your Calendar Feed

Adding your Tripsy calendar feed to your favorite calendar app is easy, we've included steps for both Apple Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Fastmail, and Google Calendar (web) below. For other calendar apps or services, please check the documentation for your app or service of choice.

Apple Calendar on iOS & iPadOS

  1. Go to Settings within Tripsy, which is accessed via your profile image at the top-right of the trips list.
  2. Scroll down to 'Automations' and tap 'Calendar Feed'
  3. Tap 'Subscribe to Tripsy Calendar', your device will ask you to give permission for Tripsy to access your calendar, this is so we can add the calendar subscription and check if you already have the calendar subscribed.
  4. The Calendar app will open and you''ll see the 'Add Subscription Calendar' screen. Here you can choose which calendar account (if you have more than one) you want the Tripsy calendar to be added to, as well as giving you the option to choose a color for your Tripsy calendar items.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the top-right and the Tripsy calendar will now be available.
  6. If you sync the same calendar account across multiple devices, for example your iCloud calendar, then you'll see the Tripsy calendar is available across those devices, and you don't need to add this again per device.

Apple Calendar on macOS

  1. Go to Settings within Tripsy, which is accessed via your profile image at the top-right of the trips list.
  2. Scroll down to 'Automations' and tap 'Calendar Feed'
  3. Tap 'Subscribe to Tripsy Calendar' and Tripsy will guide you through the steps to add the calendar to the Calendar app,

Please note: If you've already added the Tripsy calendar on your iOS or iPadOS device and sync the same calendar account with your Mac, you do not need to add the Tripsy calendar again.

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Go to Settings within Tripsy, which is accessed via your profile image at the top-right of the trips list.
  2. Scroll down to 'Automations' and tap 'Calendar Feed'.
  3. Tap 'Share Calendar URL' and choose the 'Copy' option.
  4. Open Outlook and follow the steps in this guide from Microsoft, ignoring steps 1 and 2 as these are specific to Google Calendar imports. You'll paste the calendar URL you copied from Tripsy in step 4.

Fastmail

  1. Go to Settings within Tripsy, which is accessed via your profile image at the top-right of the trips list.
  2. Scroll down to 'Automations' and tap 'Calendar Feed'.
  3. Tap 'Share Calendar URL' and choose the 'Copy' option.
  4. Follow the steps in this guide from Fastmail, pasting your Tripsy calendar URL as directed.

Google Calendar

  1. Go to Settings within Tripsy, which is accessed via your profile image at the top-right of the trips list.
  2. Scroll down to 'Automations' and tap 'Calendar Feed'.
  3. Tap 'Share Calendar URL' and choose the 'Copy' option.
  4. Go to Google Calendar, this must be done via a web browser as the iOS Google Calendar apps cannot subscribe to calendars.
  5. On the left side of the screen, find the 'Other calendars' section.
  6. Click the plus sign (+) next to 'Other calendars'.
  7. In the field provided, past the calendar URL you copied from Tripsy
  8. Click 'Add calendar' and your Tripsy calendar will appear under 'Other calendars' on the left side and within any mobile apps.

Please note: Google Calendar can take between 12-24 hours to update subscribed calendars, and as such we would strongly recommend using a different calendar app for faster updates of your Tripsy calendar.

Troubleshooting Your Calendar

  • For activities to show up in your Tripsy calendar, they must have dates and times associated with them. If you just add a date to an activity, with no times, the activity will be added as an all-day event on your calendar feed.
  • You won't see any activities that have been assigned to other guests in a trip, only activities not assigned or where you are one of the people assigned will show in the calendar feed.
  • You won't see trips where you're marked as not travelling (e.g. a shared trip from a friend or family member where you aren't travelling).
  • If your Tripsy calendar isn't updating, you may need to refresh the calendar feed within your calendar app. Some calendar services taken longer than others to refresh a subscribed calendar.
