Sharing Your Trips with Others

Are you travelling with friends, family, or work colleagues and want to share your trip details with them then keep reading as we've got some great options to let you collaborate with others on trips, or simply let them have a read-only view of your itinerary both in the app and via a web link.

Please Note: Tripsy is only available for iOS, iPadOS and macOS. If you need to share a read-only web link of your trip's itinerary with people on other platfoms please skip ahead to this section.

Sharing with Other Tripsy Users

Sharing your trip starts by going into the trip in question and tapping the three dots at the top-right of the screen and choosing Share Trip. You'll see two options to share with other Tripsy users:

  • Invite New Guest: This is the best way to add someone to your trip who will be travelling with you and  you've shared a trip with before. When you select this option, you'll be taken to the Guests list for the trip in question and tapping + Invite Guests will let you add anyone who has been added to previous trips. You can still add a new guest from the Invite Guests screen, just tap the Invite New Guest button and you'll be able to send an invite via the share sheet.
  • Share with a Friend: This let's you quickly send a view-only invite to a friend by sharing an invite via email or messaging app. The sharing permissions default to view-only and that the person you're sharing with won't be travelling with you  and as such they'll see the trip in their Friends' Trips list.
    • If the person you're sharing with already has Tripsy installed and has registered for an account, the link will automatically open Tripsy and allow them to accept the invite.
    • If they don't have Tripsy installed, they'll be provided with a link to the App Store to download Tripsy, they can then sign up for an account and revisit the link to accept the invite once everything is setup.

When adding guests, you'll be able to choose the permissions they have to your trip which can be changed at any point.

Have guests that you travel with frequently, why not use our Favorite Guests feature to have them added automatically to your trips.

Sharing with Users Who Can't Use Tripsy

If you have someone who can't use Tripsy, because they're either on a platform we don't yet support (e.g. Android, Windows, Linux) then you can share a web link with them so they can still see a read-only version of your trip's itinerary. To do this.

  • Open the trip in question
  • Tap the three dots at the top-left of the screen and choose Share Trip
  • Tap Create a Web Link
  • Tap + Create Link
  • Give your link a name (e.g. New York Trip - View Only)
  • Check Hide Documents if you don't want any of the trip documents to be visible
  • You'll now have the choice to either
    • Share Link: This will bring up the share sheet so you can send the link directly via messages, mail, or any other supported app (e.g. Signal, WhatsApp, Teams).
    • Copy Link: This copies the link to your clipboard, great if you want to paste this into a message you're already working on.

When you click the x at the top right of the share panel, you'll see this new link is shown alongside any other links you've created for that trip. Tapping on a particular link will pop-up the share sheet again.

Removing Links

To remove a created link,

  • Open the trip in question.
  • Tap the three dots at the top-left of the screen and choose Share Trip.
  • Tap Create a Web Link and you'll see a list of your existing links for the trip.

    • On Mac: Right-click on the link and choose Remove.
