Exporting Your Itinerary

If you need your activities available in a different format, we've got you covered and you can easily export your activities from each trip as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file that can be read by all major spreadsheet tools such as Apple Numbers, LibreOffice, and of course Microsoft Excel.

To export your itinerary:

  • Open Tripsy and go to the trip you want to export the itinerary for.
  • Open the Itinerary for the trip in question.
  • At the bottom left, you'll see three dots.
  • Tap the three dots and choose Export CSV.
    • On iPhone and iPad, you'll be presented with the share sheet, and you can then decide how to save the CSV file, or share this via email or any other supported apps.
    • On Mac the file will be opened in the default app on your system for opening CSV files.

File Structure

The exported CSV file will have the following fields, with each row being for a separate activity within your itinerary:

  • Starts: The start date and time of the activity. This is shown in the timezone of the activity, however timezone is not currently shown in the CSV fields - this may be something we can add in the future.
  • Ends: The end date and time of the activity.
  • ActivityType: This is the category of the activity as you'd see within Tripsy.
  • Activity: The title of the activity as you'd see within Tripsy
  • Address: This shows the address of the activity:
    • For flights this will be blank
    • For other travel activities, this will show the destination address
    • For all other activities, this will show the address of the activity
  • Phone: If populated in Tripsy, this will show the phone number for the location of an activity, for example the phone number of a hotel.
  • Reservation: This will show, if added in Tripsy, the reservation code for your activity - this might be your flight confirmation number, a train ticket reference, or your hotel booking confirmation.
  • Transport Number: For transport activities only, this will be a reference for the journey, for example your flight number.
  • Departure: For transport activities only, this will show the departure location - for flight this is typically the airport code.
  • Arrival: For transport activities only, this will show the arrival location - for flight this is typically the airport code.
  • Notes: The contents of the notes field for the activity in question
  • Assigned Guests: If you've used the option to assign guests to specific activities, then the assigned guests will be shown, with each guest separated by a comma. If no guests have been assigned, this field will be blank.

TIP: Because CSV files are a standard format, these can also be used with other tools, for example you may use something like Affinity by Canva to create a personalised printed itinerary.
