Tripsy PRO Feature: This feature requires an active subscription to Tripsy PRO or our Lifetime PRO purchase. You can find out more about Tripsy PRO here
If you're new to Tripsy and have been using TripIt to plan previous trips, or maybe your business uses TripIt for travel planning and you'd like to also have this data in Tripsy, we offer an automated import tool to bring over your trips and activities from TripIt into Tripsy.
To set this up:
- Open Tripsy's settings from the trips list by tapping your profile icon at the top-right of the list.
- Scroll down to Automations and tap TripIt Importer
- Tap Connect TripIt Account
- You'll be taken to the TripIt login page to authenticate and allow access to your TripIt account.
Once connected, your TripIt data will begin to import; depending on how many trips and plans you have this may take some time.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Does Tripsy have access to my TripIt email and password?
- No, Tripsy does not have access to your email and password. When you first authenticate to TripIt, we request an access token to retrieve data from TripIt, this token can be revoked by you at any time from within your TripIt settings.
- Does Tripsy send updated trips and activities back to TripIt?
- No, Tripsy is designed to read the existing data in your TripIt account and does not add or modify any trips or activities (plans) on your TripIt account, This is a one-way automatic import only.
- Does Tripsy automatically check my TripIt account for new data?
- Yes, we'll check your TriptIt account on a daily basis to get the latest information and import this into Tripsy if the trip in question doesn't already exist.
Known Issues
Sometimes TripIt authentication may fail when trying to connect your account to Tripsy, this could be due to some potential known issues:
- Your account might be in a region that is not allowed to make this from TripIt; It seems that they are limiting accounts in UK and EU because of GDPR requirements. If that is your case, you can try to change your home address in TripIt to any city in the US and start the process again.
- Your device's clock could be out of sync, we'd recommend having your time set automatically and you can check this in Settings > General > Date & Time on iOS and macOS
- You are using a content or ad-blocker within your browser (If you're using Safari, you can disable this in Settings > Apps > Safari on iOS and with Safari > Settings > Extensions on macOS)
- You pressed the back button while doing the authentication flow
If none of those things work, you can try to do the steps again using a different network, or a different browser.
If that still does not work, it might be that your account on TripIt does not have permission to connect with other providers. You might need to contact TripIt support and submit a ticket to ask for this permission into your account. Here's a link to do it: https://help.tripit.com/en/support/tickets/new
