How Flight Updates Work in Tripsy

Tripsy PRO Feature:  Flight Alerts require an active subscription to Tripsy PRO or our Lifetime PRO purchase. You can find out more about Tripsy PRO here

When you add your flights to Tripsy, either manually or via forwarding your flight confirmation emails using our email automation features, you'll start to receive updates within 48 hours of your flight's scheduled departure and you'll see more frequent updates within 12 hours of departure.

The updates you'll see are:

  • Flight schedule changes such as delays.
  • Terminal and gate assignment and changes from the airport.
  • Baggage claim information from the airport once you land at your destination.

We use a number of flight information providers, notably FlightAware and FlightStats, to get information on the flights you add to Tripsy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do you only get flight information within 48 hours of departure?
    • At the moment, the flight data providers we use only get this information from the relevant airlines and airports within that timeframe. That's because the flight isn't generally fully confirmed in terms of the airport, the aircraft, the crew, etc ahead of this time.
  • What about schedule changes by the airline ahead of time, e.g. a month ahead of the flight?
    • Unfortunately, we don't get updates outside of the 48 hour window before departure. For any schedule changes in advance we currently recommend either manually updating your flight details in Tripsy or forwarding the update to create a new flight and removing the previous flight from Tripsy.
  • Why didn't I get any updates for my specific flight?
    • We'd love to be able to give you updates on every flight, however where the airline or airport don't provide the relevant information to our flight data partners we can't then pass this on to you via Tripsy. We are always looking to improve our flight data, and if you do find a flight hasn't had any alerts you're welcome to email us at [email protected] with the details and we'll gladly investigate for you.
