Can I Recover a Deleted Tripsy Account?

When you delete your account, we delete all the data from our servers. We do that to protect your privacy and respect your rights under the various privacy regulations, such as GDPR. As such, we're not able to recover your data for you.

However, If you still have your Tripsy data on one of your devices and you want to restore this to a new account, and be able to sync all the existing data with the new account, you can do this by exporting the data from your device and sending it to us via a support ticket.

This is because the local trips on your device will be linked with the deleted account, and so won't be able to sync to a new account until we merge that data for you. Not to worry, though, It is very easy to send us your data by following the steps below:

Please note: You need to have Tripsy 2.17.4 or greater installed on your iPhone, iPad or Mac in order to follow these steps.

  1. Open the copy of Tripsy that contains all your trips and activities.
  2. Go to Settings by tapping on the icon at the top-right of the trips list.
  3. Make you're signed into a Tripsy account. If you aren't signed in, please create a new account as directed.
  4. Once you are logged in on your new account, scroll down within Settings and long-press the Talk to us option for 1 second.
  5. This will open a new email to us, using Apple's Mail app, and the message will contain your database as an attachment.
  6. Let us know in the email that you'd like this to be restored to your account, ensuring you let us know the email address you used for the account if this is different to the one you're sending the email from, this is especially important if you chose to use the Hide My Email option when creating an account via Sign in With Apple.

Our team will import the exported database into your account within 72 hours and we'll let you know once that's been done, once imported all data should sync between your devices logged on to your new account.
